Course Description: To be effective communicators and educators, Benefit Brokers need to reach their prospects and clients where those consumers are. And increasingly, consumers are looking for online communications as much as real world contact. The purpose of this course is to educate Brokers on how they can best use social media and e-mail to effectively provide service, advice and counsel to consumers concerning benefits and the regulatory environment. Course participants will learn the different purposes of various platforms, their proper, ethical use, methods for improving brokers’ effectiveness when engaged with these platforms and their connection to real-world communications.

Dawn McFarland is the Founder and President of M & M Benefit Solutions Insurance Services.  She transitioned from the financial industry (in sales and branch management) to the health insurance industry in 2012, just before the 1st ACA open enrollment.  She consults with brokers and agents, helping problem solve and find solutions for more efficient operation systems and increasing revenues, she is currently entering the Medicare Market.  Dawn is a past LAAHU President and currently serves as the President of the CAHU Foundation, VP of Community Outreach on the State Board (CAHU).

*Anyone not registered by 11/18/19  will be asked to pay $65 at the door. 

*Disclaimer: You must be a member of DCAHU to qualify for the member rate of $33. If you are not a member, but sign up at the $33 member rate, DCAHU requires that an additional payment of $22 be submitted.

2019-2020 Meeting Refund Policy

*Members Only: DCAHU will allow members a ONETIME-PER BUDGET YEAR pass to roll over their lunch fees to the next meeting if they had a TRUE EMERGENCY that came up within 72 hours of the meeting and outside of the regular cancellation policy (72 hrs). If they DO NOT attend the next scheduled luncheon meeting, there will be NO REFUND, even if they have called to cancel that well in advance of the 72 hrs of that meeting.

*Non-Members: DCAHU requires a 72 hours cancellation notice prior to the meeting.
Any cancellation made after will not be refunded.
