"Self-Funded employee benefits"

Should small and medium sized groups be self-funding their employee benefits? Come learn about new product designs including “level-funding” and fully integrated HRAs for small and medium sized employer groups. Level funding is a pre-packaged, self-funded arrangement that feels and acts like a fully insured plan, but gives the group back unused claims dollars if employees are low utilizers. None of the risk associated with self-funding, but still offering the reward of favorable claims experience.

David is a 15-year veteran of the insurance business, beginning his career in 2003 working in his family’s insurance agency, Fear Insurance Services and later for an agency representing Nationwide Insurance. He has both a Life/Health and Property/Casualty insurance background and specialized in small group and commercial lines coverage for businesses for several years.

In 2014, he moved over to the General Agency side of the business, becoming a broker sales consultant for Shepler & Fear General Agency.  Working from his Roseville, CA office, David works throughout California in assisting agents in traditional and exchange based health programs as well as with alternative funding arrangement including Health Reimbursement Arrangements and Self Funding plans.

Professionally, David is currently serving as the President of the California Association of Health Underwriters.  He is a former President of the Sacramento Association of Health Underwriters and he served as the CAHU Membership Chair in 2012-2014 and CAHU Legislative Chair 2014-2017.

*Anyone not registered by 03/18/19  will be asked to pay $60 at the door. 

*Disclaimer: You must be a member of DCAHU to qualify for the member rate of $30. If you are not a member, but sign up at the $30 member rate, DCAHU requires that an additional payment of $20 be submitted.


2018-2019 Meeting Refund Policy

*Members Only: DCAHU will allow members a ONETIME-PER BUDGET YEAR pass to roll over their lunch fees to the next meeting if they had a TRUE EMERGENCY that came up within 72 hours of the meeting and outside of the regular cancellation policy (72 hrs). If they DO NOT attend the next scheduled luncheon meeting, there will be NO REFUND, even if they have called to cancel that well in advance of the 72 hrs of that meeting.

*Non-Members: DCAHU requires a 72 hours cancellation notice prior to the meeting.
Any cancellation made after will not be refunded.
