Dental benefits are different than medical benefits and most of us do what our dentists say without question. Everybody wants to think that their dentists are looking out for the patients’ best interests. Yet are all of those services really necessary? If my mouth is healthy, do I really need x-rays every 6 months or 12 months? If that cracked tooth is not causing any problems, do I really need an extensive crown on it? What happens when my dentist bills for a service that is not appropriate or not necessary and who makes that determination? These questions will be answered and much more. 

Paul Manos, DDS, is Dental Director for United Concordia Dental. Dr. Manos is an actively licensed dentist for the State of California and graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1984. After several years in private practice, Dr. Manos was an instructor in clinical periodontology and dental anesthesiology before taking on leadership roles in the administration of dental benefit programs. Dr. Manos has developed and managed dental provider networks, including associated quality assurance programs, in several parts of the United States. He has over 25 years’ executive experience in the dental benefits administration industry. In addition, Dr. Manos regularly speaks about the connection between oral health and overall health, and has served as the dental advisor for the Orange County Public Schools and as a legislative member of the Westminster Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the San Fernando Valley Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

All registrations will require concurrent payment. DEADLINE is 10/16/17

*Anyone not registering by 10/16/17  will be asked to pay $60 at the door

*Disclaimer: You must be a member of DCAHU to qualify for the member rate of $30. If you are not a member, but sign up at the $30 member rate, DCAHU requires that an additional $20 be submitted to total $50. 

2017-2018 Meeting Refund Policy

*Members Only: DCAHU will allow members a ONETIME-PER BUDGET YEAR pass to roll over their lunch fees to the next meeting if they had a TRUE EMERGENCY that came up within 72 hours of the meeting and outside of the regular cancellation policy (72 hrs). If they DO NOT attend the next scheduled luncheon meeting, there will be NO REFUND, even if they have called to cancel that well in advance of the 72 hrs of that meeting.

*Non-Members: DCAHU requires a 72 hours cancellation notice prior to the meeting. Any cancellation made after will not be refunded.
